Meet Lee,

As the song says, all I ever wanted was to be a cowboy. I grew up that way — a young man riding and training horses on my parents’ ranch in Mississippi, learning the rhythms of the land and the language of the animals. College and then military service took me away from home, and war changed everything. After sustaining life-altering injuries and retiring from service, I returned to civilian life carrying those memories and a determination to rebuild.

That’s where Brittany came in. She was my anchor and my partner. We married, and together we built a family — eight wonderful kids, and now a few grandchildren who already know the smell of tack and the sound of a far-off hoofbeat. Through all the transitions, the calling to return to my roots never left. Horses and cowboy life were more than a passion; they were a piece of who I am.

Today, Brittany and I run Broken Road Ranch Equine Services in the heart of Cowboy Country, Wyoming. We offer top-notch care and training, blending practical horsemanship with patient, individualized attention. Our kids are part of the work — helping with feeding, grooming, and training — and they bring energy, curiosity, and the same love of horses that started it all.

At Broken Road Ranch we believe in steady, respectful horsemanship: safe, clear groundwork; rider-centered training; and care that keeps each horse sound and happy. Whether you’re seeking training for a green colt, rehabilitation after injury, or dependable boarding and daily care, we provide a supportive, family-oriented environment built on decades of experience.

We know what it means to start over and to follow a calling. If you want horses handled with skill and heart, come see us at Broken Road Ranch Equine Services — where cowboy roots meet proven care.
